The Astronomical Society of South Australia wishes to give you an opportunity to experience and share in the love of astronomy at a Star Party at the ASSA Observatory at Stockport. In conjunction with this, we will be running a workshop on astrophotography using mobile phones.

The Star Party will be open to everyone, young and old, and family groups will be most welcome.

The aim of the event is to introduce you to the wonders of the night sky. Your awareness and interest will be extended on the night via:

• Information sessions about various aspects of astronomy
• Activities suitable for children
• Laser-guided tours to assist with the identification of, and discussion about, planets, stars, and nebulae
• The practical use of visual and electronic-imaging telescopes
• A workshop on astrophotography using mobile phones

A sausage sizzle, and hot and cold snacks and drinks will be available for purchase on the night. We will also offer a range of astronomical merchandise should you wish to take home a memento of the evening.

How could it get any better than this? Well, due to the generosity of Inspiring SA we are thrilled to able to bring this to you for FREE! Please note, however, that you will need to register and get your tickets in advance.
