Planting, germinating and nurturing the seeds of curiosity in the minds of students!

Scintillating Science all week long! Each lunch hour a different activity will be run to engage students across years 3,5,9/10 and 11/12 to develop science conversations between students.

Activity 1: (Year 9-12): Cuttlefish curiosity. (Cuttle fish dissection) What is that long thin white shell you find on the beach? What is a cuttle fish? Is it a fish? Where does the black ink come from? Why do they have black ink? Why do they have a beak?

Activity 2 (Year 5): Are crickets the food of the future? Why/Why not? (Looking at insects under a microscope and investigating sustainable foods of the future eating different sustainable foods such as crickets/ants etc.

Activity 3 (Year 3): Sprouting two different seeds and comparing similarities and differences between them. Understanding how they germinate, parts of the plant.

Activity 4: Battle of the Houses Quiz- House teams created with Year 5, 9/10 and 11/12 participants who answer a range of Science themed questions from the Quiz Master!
