Keen to celebrate Science Week, but don’t have the time or resources to develop your own event? Then Brain Breaks are for you!

Brain Breaks are a chance for people to gather informally in workplaces or schools- perhaps over morning tea, or a walking meeting- and share some fascinating science facts.
We are developing rounds of trivia that you can use as part of your Brain Break for the following age groups, as well as a super-special ‘Sounds of science’ audio round that’s suitable for everyone.
You may want to add your own activities to these… think a science demonstration (check out our DIY Science resources for great ideas), sharing a cool piece of science news, or inviting someone who works in STEM along to share a little about their work.
You can register to hold a Public Brain Break if you want members of the public to join you- this is perfect for libraries, community houses etc. Your event will be listed on our website, so people can easily find it.
If you’d prefer just to run a Brain Break for your own school or workplace, please register to hold a Private Brain Break.
Brain Break content will be available for digital download from early June, but you can pre-register now, and we’ll send you a link to our ‘secret’ page to access the resources once they are posted.
Remember to tag us on social media, or use #BrainBreak and #ScienceWeek when you hold your event.
If you are running a Brain Break for adults and you are keen for even more trivia, you can also register to hold a National Science Week Pub Trivia event.
