‘Exploring Sustainable Gardens’ is a hands-on, engaging week of activities for students to learn about sustainability and the environment. Students will engage in a range of practical workshops, exploring how living things grow, interact, and survive. Activities include creating frog hotels (hydration stations) and bee habitats, growing fast‑sprouting microgreens and mushrooms, and constructing seed bombs for native plants. Activities are designed to promote curiosity, problem‑solving, and real‑world connections to environmental science. Working collaboratively, students will build, design, investigate, and create throughout Science Week, developing confidence in scientific thinking through accessible, highly tactile experiences. By the end of the week, students will have contributed to a series of sustainable garden projects that benefit both the school community and the local environment.
