Have you ever wanted to create your own tiny world? In this fun and hands-on activity, you'll build a mini garden inside a clear container called a terrarium! A terrarium is like a small ecosystem that grows inside a jar, allowing you to see how plants live and grow up close.
You'll start by layering rocks, soil, and small plants to create your very own miniature garden. Once your terrarium is complete, you'll be able to watch nature at work. When sunlight shines on the container, water from the soil and plants turns into water vapour. The vapour collects on the inside walls of the container as tiny droplets of water. These droplets eventually fall back into the soil, creating a mini water cycle that helps keep the plants healthy.
As your terrarium grows, you'll discover how plants need water, light, and care to survive. You'll also learn about the water cycle and how living things depend on their environment. Most importantly, you'll have the chance to observe changes over time, ask questions, and take responsibility for caring for your own little garden world.
